Day 1: Arrive in Colombo – Negombo

Arrive at Colombo Airport and transfer to Negombo, a vibrant fishing town with a colonial charm, for your first overnight stay.

Day 2: Negombo – Sinharaja

Depart for Sinharaja, Sri Lanka’s last viable primary tropical rainforest. Enjoy the journey through coastal views, paddy fields, and rubber estates on the way to the UNESCO-listed Sinharaja Forest Reserve.

Day 3: Sinharaja

Spend a full day exploring Sinharaja. Enjoy morning and evening birdwatching sessions to see the famed “Sinharaja bird wave” with endemic species and other unique wildlife among towering trees and lush vegetation.

Day 4: Sinharaja – Galle – Mirissa

Visit the historic Galle Fort, a well-preserved Dutch colonial fort with charming churches, homes, and shops. Continue to Mirissa for an overnight stay near its beautiful, unspoiled beaches.

Day 5: Mirissa

Take a morning whale-watching tour to spot blue whales, sperm whales, and several dolphin species in the waters near Mirissa. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing by the beach.

Day 6: Mirissa – Yala National Park

Travel to Yala National Park for an evening safari. Experience the thrill of spotting leopards, elephants, and other wildlife under the warm sunset hues.

Day 7: Yala – Udawalawe

Experience a morning safari in Yala before heading to Udawalawe National Park, another sanctuary famous for elephants. Spend the night in a luxury camp amidst the park’s wild beauty.

Day 8: Udawalawe

Explore Udawalawe’s wildlife on a guided safari, focusing on its large elephant population. Visit the Ath Athuru Sevana, an elephant rehabilitation center, to see young elephants being prepared for life in the wild.

Day 9: Udawalawe – Bentota
