Day 1: Arrival in Paro

Arrive at Paro airport and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the beautiful Paro Valley, a region rich in culture and steeped in legends. Visit key sites like the National Museum (Ta Dzong), Rinpung Dzong, and the historical ruins of Durkgyel Dzong.

Day 2: Paro Valley Exploration

Embark on a scenic trek to the famed Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff. After a serene teahouse lunch with awe-inspiring views, trek downhill and return to Paro to visit a traditional Bhutanese village home.

Day 3: Paro – Punakha

Journey to Punakha with a stop in Thimphu to visit the charming Tamchoe Lhakhang Temple. Cross the scenic Dochula Pass, which offers stunning panoramic views of Bhutan’s changing landscapes.

Day 4: Punakha

Take a morning tour into Punakha’s serene countryside. Enjoy a short trek to the Crown Prince’s stupa and Sonagasa, the King’s winter residence, followed by a visit to the grand Punakha Dzong. Continue to Chimi Lhakhang, known for its bold phallic symbols and fertility blessings.

Day 5: Punakha – Bumthang

Begin your day with a scenic drive to Bhutan’s sacred peak, Mt. Chomolhari. Stop at Chedebji Chorten for a picnic lunch before arriving in Trongsa. Explore the historic Trongsa Dzong and continue to Bumthang, where you’ll visit Chumey Palace, Prakar Monastery, and the Yathra weaving center in the valley.

Day 6: Bumthang Valley

Embark on a walking tour of the sacred Bumthang Valley. Visit important sites like Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Lhakhang. In the afternoon, drive to Jakar and relax in the evening.

Day 7: Bumthang – Ura Valley Day Excursion

Drive across the Shertang Pass to the remote Ura Valley, the highest of Bumthang’s four major valleys. Enjoy a leisurely walking tour before returning to Jakar, with a visit to the enchanting Flaming Lake (Mebar Tsho) along the way.

Day 8: Bumthang – Trongsa

Leave Bumthang and drive along the winding mountain roads towards Yotong and on to Trongsa. After lunch, visit the grand Trongsa Dzong and the watchtower overlooking the valley. Spend the evening exploring the charming township of Trongsa.

Day 9: Trongsa – Thimphu

Travel back to Thimphu, passing through Wangdue. Stop at Dochu La Pass for tea and take in the majestic views of the eastern Himalayas. Visit the Tibetan village of Hongtsho before arriving in Thimphu.

Day 10: Thimphu City Tour

Explore Bhutan’s capital with visits to a local nunnery, the Textile Museum, and the Heritage Museum. If time permits, visit iconic temples like Changangkha and Zangthopelri. Wander through the vibrant weekend market before concluding your day at Tashichho Dzong, Bhutan’s administrative and religious heart.

Day 11: Thimphu – Paro

After breakfast, visit Cheri Monastery for a peaceful morning of reflection and a picnic lunch. In the evening, return to Paro for your last night in Bhutan.

Day 12: Departure from Paro

Transfer to Paro airport for your onward flight or extend your adventure with a trip to India by choosing one of our add-on tours.
